Mind, body and soul
We run our retreats holistically. We are working with all three elements of your existence, your mind, your body and your soul. Therefore we start each day very actively. We gather at 7:30 in the morning and devote our first hour and a half to Flow programme.
Flow is a unique and integrative programme, which works on your mental, physical, emotional and soul level. Flow merges together the elements of physical training, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Mindfulness, Meditation and awakening of your life energy.
The exercises are put together with the intention to help us gain flexibility, strength, and control over our bodies. We focus heavily on our breathing and we practice living in the present moment with each single movement we make. We finish our morning session with a pleasant meditation session or deep healing session.
We finish our educational program at 13:00. Straight after we have lunch in a very pleasant family run restaurant just beneath the hill where we are staying. The food is really delicious and if you have any special desires or requirements, the cooks make all possible effort to satisfy your needs.
From 14:00 until 19:00 you can take time for yourself & enjoy the peace and the silence of the area, hang out with friends, sunbathe in the front yard, swim in the swimming pool, read books or explore the area around. Nave Redonda offers magnificent walking paths as well as cycling tracks. There are plenty of bikes ready to be used at the cottage.
On Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoon we organise different excursions.
On Monday you can come with us to see Monchique – a market town up in the Serra de Monchique, which is a thickly wooded mountain range separating the Algarve from Alentejo. The journey to Monchique offers spectacular views and is totally different from the Algarve coast. You will be able to see typical Algarvean houses there with white walls and bands of colour around the windows and doors and you will also have the chance to climb the highest peak in Algarve Mountains called Foia.
Later on we will visit the Castle of Silves, situated in the civil parish and municipality of Silves. Built between the 8th and 13th century, the castle is one of the best preserved Moorish fortifications in Portugal, resulting in its classification as a National Monument in 1910.
On Wednesday we take you for a walk or sunbathing along the beatiful and sunny Portuguese beaches.
On Friday you can get lost with us in magnificent Fiesa where you can admire genuine works of art made of sand.
Optionally, if you love horses and would like to ride them along the ocean with breathtaking scenery, we have a surprise for you. We will take you to Baia do Tonel to meet our friend Filipe, who will take care of you and make your stay with him and his calm horses as pleasant as possible.
At 19:00 we have dinner and afterwards you are free to do whatever you like. We will endeavour to make your stay with us as pleasant as possible and therefore we host special events each evening. Svein and the owner of the cottage, Humberto, are both enthusiastic guitar players; therefore you can be sure you will be able to sing your hearts out. Polona loves dancing, therefore you will be able to move with her and learn a few basic and simple choreographies. One night will be devoted to a live hypnosis demonstration during which our last participants were rolling in the aisles. We should not forget to mention movie night which will take you even deeper into the meaning of life. Oh and of course Fado night. Fado is nowadays referred to as a musical symbol of Portugal; it has been described as a “true expression of the Portuguese soul.”
